Biofilms and Biofilm Disruptors

I'm here to tell you something that too many in conventional medicine won’t: your gut is smarter than your doctor. And if you’ve been struggling with GI issues, adrenal fatigue, or you’re falling for the Ozempic hype, I’m here to pull back the curtain and shine a light on what’s really going on.
Let’s dig deep into what your GI tract isn’t telling your primary care doctor and how something called biofilms could be part of the problem.
Biofilms: The Hidden Troublemakers in Your Gut
Biofilms are sticky colonies of bacteria, fungi, or parasites that build up in your gut and act like microscopic squatters. They’re slimy, stubborn, and incredibly resistant to removal—especially without a biofilm disruptor. And trust me, I’ve been there.
Years ago, when I was dealing with chronic GI issues and post-surgical complications, it wasn’t until I worked with a functional nutritionist (and later became one myself) that I discovered how biofilms were part of my problem. And guess what? Conventional medicine had no clue.
Biofilms can contribute to:
IBS, IBD, and SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth)
Candida and other fungal overgrowths (CIFO)
Leaky gut and nutrient malabsorption
Brain fog, fatigue, and even mood disorders
If your GI doc scoped you every which way and then shrugged with an “It’s just IBS,” it’s time for a second opinion—mine.
Adrenal Fatigue, Stress, and the Modern Health Mess
If you’re dragging through the day, craving sugar, and having those “I could fall asleep at the wheel” moments, adrenal dysfunction might be the culprit. I talked about this in-depth on a previous episode—go check out the podcast library if you missed it.
Cortisol imbalances, whether high or low, can mess with everything from your sleep to your weight to your mood. And stress—from processed food, toxins, or just being human—only makes it worse.
Here’s the kicker: blood sugar spikes and crashes caused by stress can look like food sensitivity reactions or even low blood sugar episodes. But it’s all part of the same tangled web.
Ozempic, Wegovy & the Dirty Little Secret
Let’s talk about these so-called miracle weight loss drugs. I get fired up about this—and for good reason. These drugs were originally for people with diabetes, but now they’re being marketed as the solution to obesity. And while Big Pharma laughs all the way to the bank, people are ending up in the ER—over 24,000 times in just two years.
Low blood sugar. Muscle loss. Even vision problems.
Here’s the dirty little secret no one’s talking about: when you lose muscle, you slow down your metabolism. So even if you lose weight, your body becomes more efficient at holding onto fat. That’s why I say don’t fall for the hype. Dieting doesn’t work. Deprivational dieting really doesn’t work. And drugs that mimic deprivation? Even worse.
So, What Can You Do About Biofilms?
Here’s the good news: biofilms can be addressed. We use biofilm disruptors—natural herbal blends that help break up that sticky glue and clear the way for gut healing. But I’m not handing out supplement recommendations on the internet like candy. I don’t know your height, weight, age, or health history… yet.
That’s why I offer a free 45-minute call. On that call, we’ll dive into your story and see which functional nutrition tests might help. Think food sensitivity testing, micronutrient panels, microbiome assessments—all the stuff your doctor isn’t running. Click the button to schedule your free call with me today.

If you’re nodding along thinking “This is me,” then you already know it’s time. Maybe you’ve been told it’s all in your head. Maybe you’ve been given a generic diagnosis like IBS and told to just live with it. Or maybe you’re on your third prescription and still not feeling better.
I’m here to say: it doesn’t have to be that way.
I was once where you are—sick, tired, dismissed by the system. I’ve done the work. I’ve found the answers.
And now I want to help you do the same.
